Thank you to the partners against crime and grime
Sectors 4 and 6 of the Douglasdale Community Police Forum (CPF) thank community members, SAPS, City Parks representative (Andrew Tyiwa), ADT and Night Guard for pitching in to clean up Juweel Park and its surrounding pavements on the Platina Road side of the park on Saturday May 8.
About 60 people gave of their time and effort. They did a fantastic job of cutting back the overgrown foliage, bagging litter, and setting a precedent for a cleaner and safer park – all as a labour of love, free-of-charge and with total commitment. Without individuals in the community taking responsibility for the cleanliness and safety of the areas in which they live, we cannot win the fight against crime and grime.
The residents that live near the park are going to form a Juweel Park Action Group that will adopt the park and ensure that it is kept clean, maintained and free of criminals, by calling on the services of the council at Joburg Connect and SAPS when they are needed, and working with the Sector 4 and 6 CPF teams.
Resident Erich Haupt has agreed to lead this team. Please support him. He will not be able to do this on his own. To be part of the action group, please contact Erich aterich@telostraining.co.za or 011 658-1575.
Andrew from City Parks said he will ensure that this park is placed on that agency’s regular roster.
