Timber has a great nature
Timber came to the SPCA as a stray. Huskies’ are frequent visitors to the Sandton SPCA as it is typical for this breed to wander. This is an important character if huskies were living in Arctic environments as they were bred to run sleds and hunt for themselves.
Many of Huskies features are similar to the modern day wolf, which is a reason people want to own them, they are striking animals. They love to howl, prefer to be in packs, like to hunt (not good news for cats) and love to run.
Unfortunately today’s Husky lives in urban society and is bound by walls and roads. Huskies are expert escape artists and it is likely Timber’s owner was fed up with him straying and decided not to look for him. Huskies have many other wonderful characters which make them wonderful pets and Timber has a great nature.
If you would like to adopt Timber be prepared to have very high walls and pay careful attention to entering and leaving the property. Even though huskies can be difficult to train, Timber would benefit from obedience training.
If you would like to adopt Timber, please contact Sandton SPCA on 011 444 7730 or visit him at our shelter in 9th Street Marlboro Gardens. To help dogs like Timber please support Sandton SPCA by giving a donation. For more information, email info@sandtonspca.org.za or visit www.sandtonspca.org.za
