Comedy for Dummies in September at Parker’s

Parker’s Comedy & Jive hosts an unprecedented mix of local and international comedians in September, including two ventriloquists, a fearless Canadian and some of South Africa’s top local acts! Adam Richmond (8-11 & 15-18 September) and Willie Brown & Woody (29 & 30 September and 6-9 October) bring the international flavour, while comedy ventriloquist Conrad Koch, Survivor SA Celebrity star Darren Maule and quickfire genius Joey Rasdien, amongst others, will represent South Africa.

Adam Richmond’s (8-11 & 15-18 September) high energy act and fearless stage presence have made him a favorite at colleges and clubs all around North America and in Australia, Japan, Korea and Guam. Also a writer and actor, Adam has appeared on Nickelodeon and Fox Sports Net. Adam has the ability to make an audience feel comfortable - go see him to find out how much you can get away with when an audience likes you.

Comedian Ventriloquist Willie Brown (29 & 30 September and 6-9 October) and his sidekick Woody are one of the funniest comedy acts on the international circuit today. Brown honed his explosively funny craft in comedy clubs all over the world and his quick takes on current events, family life, church, and politics will have you laughing ‘til you cry.

He’s appeared on countless television series’ and in movies “All About You”, “Issues”, and “Tears of a Clown”. Willie – and Woody - have worked with Mike Epps, Steve Harvey, Martin Lawrence, Cedric the Entertainer and a host of others. He has headlined across the world and performed in England, South Africa, Germany, Amsterdam, Bosnia, Japan, Korea, and most of the U.S. and British Islands.

Wednesdays see the return of the Improv Express team, where anything goes and nothing is sacred. The talented comics make up everything on the spot – why not check it out and see how they handle the sneakiest curveballs the audience can throw at them! Wednesdays also offer Open Spot slots, where wannabe comics can step up to the mic to try their hand at stand-up, or established comics can pop up and try new material – you never know who you’ll see on stage in the Open Spots!
