Dear Montecasino neighbour
You’ve no doubt seen the billboards announcing that the end of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ does not mark the end of the sporting action at Montecasino and that we’re preparing to host Boktown – the official home of A TRUE BOK supporter, which kicks off this Saturday with the second game of the Vodacom Tri-Nations series.
Our boys in green and gold are ready to take on the Aussies and the All Blacks and, with our national pride still at an all-time high following on the success of the first FIFIA World Cup™, we’re looking forward to being the only place to be if you can’t be at the game from 17 July through to the end of the tournament in September.
We’re expecting larger than normal numbers of people on game days, all of whom will be coming to enjoy the game screenings on the huge outdoor screen, live entertainment, and giveaways on the Montecasino Piazza. Boktown will be the ultimate fan zone viewing experience and fans who visit are guaranteed an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm.
I’d like to take this opportunity to alert you to the fact that due to the screenings, as was the case during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, Montecasino will be noisier than usual during the games and we apologise for any inconvenience caused to you during the period.
Boktown is as result of a partnership between Montecasino and SA Rugby of which we are very proud and we can assure you that we have received council approval of all activities and will be well within our approved parameters. We will do our utmost to ensure that the experience is well managed and is safe and enjoyable for all concerned. Confirmed screening days thus far, are as follows:
Saturday, 17 July: New Zealand v. South Africa 8.35am for 9.35am.
Saturday, 24 July: Australia v. South Africa 10am for 12 noon.
Saturday, 21 August: South Africa v. New Zealand 3pm for 5pm.
Saturday, 28 August: South Africa v. Australia 3pm for 5pm.
Saturday, 4 September: South Africa v. Australia 3pm for 5pm.
With all this happening a stone’s throw away from you door, I hope you’ll use the opportunity to bring your friends and family along to enjoy the camaraderie as the country unites behind our sporting heroes once again, and back the Boks with pride.
If you want to know more about what is happening at Montecasino over the next two months please visit www.montecasino.co.za, and if you would like to come and watch any of the Tri-Nations games with us at Boktown, bookings can be made through Computicket.
Yours faithfully
Steve Howell
