Over R33 million in winnings at Montecasino in six months
Winning has again been the name of the game at Montecasino in the past six months. Players have taken home a total of R33 million worth of cash and prizes with much more in the pipeline in 2012.

Progressive jackpots are always very popular – for good reason. On 21 November 2011 a jackpot of R1 359 600 was won on a Mystic Power slot machine; one of Montecasino’s biggest jackpots last year. The total amount won in progressive jackpots in December was R29 264 963.
The three-day R6 000 No Limit Texas Hold’em Montecasino Poker Challenge came to an end in September 2011. Poker, once again stood up to its reputation as being all about entertainment, excitement, risk and reward. The winner, Nahum Lum, of Bassonia in Johannesburg, walked away with R210 000. The top 10 winners took home a total of R683 000.
The annual Montecasino Jack is Back blackjack tournament challenged blackjack enthusiasts to bet on their skills against those of other players and not just the house. This saw the top seven winners taking over R206 000 and the winner, Colin Govindasamy of Bryanston in Johannesburg, leaving with R86 800.
The popular 2011 Money and Travel Seychelles promotion gave out a total prize purse of R3 960 000. Broken down, Platinum cardholders winning a value of R 2 270 000; Gold cardholders scoring R1 120 000 of the purse; and Red cardholders winning R570 000.
The C’mon Feel Alive promotion, which ran in conjunction with the recent Ayoba Festival, gave Montecasino Platinum, Gold and Red Club Festival members the chance to win R2.92 million in cash through exclusive category-specific draws. The final Platinum winner scored R250 000, the Gold winner R100 000, and the Red winner R50 000.
Cash & Cars have also been in the winning pot to the tune of R1 929 252. This progressive jackpot has seen 18 winners driving off in Volkswagen Polos and cash prizes totalling R1 335 996 in the past six months.
Take a Chance, a slots and tables promotion, saw a total of R249 579 cash and FreePlay, Montecasino’s extra credit gaming currency, making its way into lucky Club Festival winners’ hands.
The BadBeat Poker jackpot was won on a number of different occasions. In November 2011, a jackpot of R420 330 was divided between 10 players on the table. The player whose hand was beaten won R147 115, the hand winner won R63 049 and the rest of the eight guests at the table were paid R10 508 each.
The jackpot paid out again – twice in a matter of two days – on 2 and 3 January 2012. On 2 January a jackpot of R105 455 was divided between nine players on the table – the player whose hand was won took R36 910, the hand winner took R15 820, and the rest of the players took R3 015 each. Similarly, the 3 January jackpot paid out a total of R23 011, with the player whose hand was beaten winning R8 053, then hand winner winning R3 451, and the rest of the players winning R1 534 each. Montecasino’s festive season Double It! gaming promotion gave punters the chance to win their share of R1 32 million in cash, but also to double it. All Montecasino Platinum, Gold and Red Club Festival Members were guaranteed entry into each draw by simply swiping their Club Festival cards at any of the E-Host machines dotted around property on the day of the draw. Their free ticket was electronically entered into an electronic draw bin. Over 23 lucky winners claimed their share of the prize money.
