Chrissanthie Cosmetics

Enter Chrissanthie, the only ophthalmologist tested eye care beauty range in SA

A locally produced anti-ageing eye care range looks set to take the market by storm. Aimed at a high end clientele, Chrissanthie eye care products are specially formulated to target the visible signs of ageing around the eyes, usually the first location on the face to manifest the tell-tale signs of advancing years.

The brainchild of Dr. Chrissie Cockinos, a leading ophthalmologist operating out of the Sandhurst Eye Centre in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, the Chrissanthie range of products is the result of a joint collaboration between Brunel Cosmetics Manufacturer and registered pharmacist, Christine Deist, and is specifically formulated to contain a host of ingredients not traditionally found collectively in other products, or even in the recommended proportions, according to Deist.

She explains: “This is where the strength of the Chrissanthie Eye Care Range lies, in that we’ve managed to combine a number of ‘miracle’ ingredients into one product for optimum results.

For example, we have introduced D-Panthenol, (a nappy rash ingredient) into the Eye Cream (suitable for normal to oily skin types and younger skins), which apart from its moisturising and barrier properties, also acts as an anti-inflammatory, thereby reducing redness and soothing the skin. Plus it stimulates healing as well as new cell growth. Similarly, the Rich Eye Cream is an intensive moisture repair formula that contains, among other ingredients, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide, an ingredient that stimulates collagen production.

And then there’s the Eye Serum, a cooling gel that via its astringent properties, helps to drain fluid and shrink capillaries which if left untreated, allow de-oxygenated blood to form, causing dark circles, puffiness and crow’s feet, conditions traditionally associated with the ageing process. More important, by virtue of the rice protein it contains, it is a hypo-allergenic formula, suitable for even the most sensitive skin types.

Adds Dr. Chrissie Cockinos: “The Eyelid Cleanser contains a pH balanced foaming agent together with acrylates that provide protective covering. More important, it has been tested successfully on Blepharitis patients, who traditionally, are unable to use many of the conventional products on the market.

Equally worthy of mention is that the Chrissanthie range is specially formulated for South African climatic conditions. All our products contain a substantial Sun Protection Factor to combat the effects of exposure to the African sun, widely regarded as the leading cause of skin ageing in this country.

“A preliminary assessment of the Chrissanthie eye-care range by a leading dermatologist has further yielded encouraging results, serving as confirmation that complete confidence in our innovative new range is not misplaced.”

Says Liana Shaw, Sales and Marketing Director for Chrissanthie Cosmetics: “Another big plus for the range is that it is locally produced, which means lower manufacturing and transportation costs, benefits that are ultimately passed down to the end user.”

Phase Two of the Chrissanthie Cosmetics range saw the launch of the exciting new Body Care Range in December comprising Luxury Hand Liquid Soap and Body Lotion, Luxury Hand Cream, Luxurious Foam Bath, Shower Gel, Room Atomiser, Sugar Exfoliator for tackling rough unsightly areas, and a Luxury Heel Balm that after considerable testing, is offering remarkable results, providing welcome relief and restoring the look and feel to even the most impervious heels.

This will be followed next year by the launch of the complementary Chrissanthie Facial Range (Phase Three) which will entail two facial cleansers (targeting different skin types), an alcohol-free toner and a moisturiser, again, with an in-built high Sun Protection Factor.

As the only local beauty range produced and endorsed by a leading Ophthalmologist, Chrissanthie Cosmetics is well poised to capture a discerning domestic market.
