Head-on smash leaves one dead
A head-on collision on Douglas road in Douglasdale, Randburg has left one person dead and another with serious injuries this morning at around 12.15am. Details to the cause of the smash will remain a subject for police investigation.
When Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene they found the mangled remains of both vehicles alight on the roadway. After an assessment of the patients it was established that one of the drivers tragically died due to the extensive injuries that he had sustained and another person sustained serious injuries.
"After the patient was stabilised on scene he was transported to an area hospital for the care that he required", said Chris Botha of Netcare 911.

This road is a complete nightmare, it is in urgent need of traffic-calming measures. This is not the first time a young life has been lost, how do we go about getting the calming measures implemented? Condolences to his family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
