Tragic death

During clean up operations around the Lonehill Dam this week, the body of a deceased black baby was found in a plastic bag hidden in the reeds. It would appear that the mother gave birth to the infant in a secluded spot within the reeds, wrapped it up in an apron within a plastic bag and then left it in the reeds.

The plastic bag along with other rubbish was seen on Sunday afternoon, so the birth probably occurred last Friday or Saturday.
