The wonderful, much loved Beautiful Creatures characters come to life in a full stage production at The Teatro at Montecasino these winter school holidays. Mums and dads, treat the whole family to the magic of Beautiful Creatures which opened on Friday, June 18, 2010 and runs until to Sunday, July 4, 2010.

This hour long show features the endearing Imvubu the happiest hippo and his special friends including Mafutha the elephant, Harry the hungry Hadeda, Lucas the lazy lion, Morris the monkey and Roddy Rhino who just love it when children join them by singing along to the popular songs from the ‘Beautiful Creatures’ music CD series, ‘Beautiful Creatures’ ‘More Beautiful Creatures’, ‘Even More Beautiful Creatures’, ‘Beautiful Bedtime’ and ‘Beautiful Me’.

As schools are taking a unprecedented 4-week vacation over the Soccer World Cup, ‘Beautiful Creatures’ and a visit to Montecasino is the perfect outing to create happiness for the whole family. 



Originally showcased in 2008, the overwhelming response led to the originators of Beautiful Creatures - Alan Glass and Ed Jordan together with Paul Choritz, partnering with South African Producer Hazel Feldman of Showtime Management to produce a new and interactive stage version that is not only wholesome family fun but carries a strong conservation message.

"We are so excited to see our wonderful characters come to life on stage, and are delighted to be working with producer Hazel Feldman and the country's premier theatre space, the Teatro at Montecasino." says the Beautiful Creatures Team.

Featuring an energetic 12-member cast, Beautiful Creatures is directed by London-based, Paul Warwick Griffin (Jesus Christ Superstar, High School Musical SA and China, Chess, Cats World Tour, Evita) with choreography by Vicky Friedman (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Rocky Horror, Mile High with Cathy Specific & Menopause The Musical).

“Beautiful Creatures is an iconic children’s production and the development of this amazing concept from books to stage and now theatre will introduce many children to the wonders of musical theatre and grow future audiences.” says Hazel Feldman.

The past four years has seen the Beautiful Creatures brand become a household name in South Africa, with books, clothes and toys in production as well as a T.V. series in development. Beautiful Creatures prides itself on being uniquely South African with a positive global message.
