The Lonehill Residents Association hosted the second Security Forum of 2010 during August 2010 at the Fabz Estate Hotel. The previous meeting was held in May just prior to the Soccer World Cup program and they are planning a third meeting within the next three months.

The recent meeting created the opportunity for Chairmen and Security Representatives from all the complexes and road closures in Lonehill, Beverley and Pineslopes to learn more about the safety and security structures that are already in place and new measures that are being put into place currently by the Community Policing Forum for our area (Sector 3 of the Douglasdale CPF).

Advocate Jean Berdou, Chairman of the Douglasdale CPF as well as being a Director of the LRA, addressed the forum on the merits and advantages of the Community Policing Forum and the many success stories of the CPF during the past six months.

The threat of a growing informal settlement on our doorstep at the Clay Oven was also discussed. The LRA will be seeking a long-term solution to the problem by facilitating a meeting with the relevant people involved in safety, security, housing, landowners, politicians, residents, business etc.
