Elections for Ward Committees - vote for the best candidates for Ward 115

Dear Ward One-One-Fivers,

Ward Committee Elections: 4 February 2012 - Your vote is needed to ensure that your ward is best served.

Council has announced that the elections for Ward Committees will be held across the city of Johannesburg on 4 February 2012. These will be conducted by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) at venues within each ward.

Council will publish the elections in the media and release the locations of the venues next year. The IEC officials will use the voters’ roll to ensure that candidates live in the ward in which they wish to serve. I.D. books must be presented at the elections by candidates.

I encourage you to book 4 February in your diaries and get to the Ward Committee elections so that you can vote the best people into the portfolios; people who will work for the good of the community.

Ward 115 is fortunate to have a number of community members who have already shown commitment to improving the standard of our ward and who have accepted nominations for the ward portfolios. The portfolios reflect those on the Mayoral Committee of Johannesburg.:

Infrastructure and Development
Transport
Health
Community Development
Economic Development
Finance
Corporate and Shared Services (I.T.)

The names of the candidates will be released next year.
